Life-Changing Beauty: Surviving the 100+ Degree Summer as a Realtor
Let’s talk about the summer heat in Tulsa, OK—because it’s no joke! As a realtor, trying to hold open houses in 100+ degree heat definitely presents its challenges. Let’s talk about the summer heat in Tulsa, OK—because it’s no joke! As a realtor, trying to hold open houses in 100+ degree heat definitely presents its challenges. Between the sweltering temperatures and the relentless sun, face-melting makeup was a real concern. I’d leave the house looking fresh and polished, and by the time I arrived at the property, it felt like I was walking into a sauna, and my makeup was practically sliding off my face.
But then something truly life-changing happened during one of my showings. I met a sweet lady who had been at work all day and had just come to the showing straight from her job. Her makeup was still flawless—her foundation looked fresh, and her lipstick was as vibrant as when she first applied it. I couldn’t help but notice these stripes of lipstick on her hand from where she had tested a few colors. And the most impressive part? Those stripes weren’t budging—not even in the intense heat of the day!
Naturally, she asked if I had heard of what she was using, I said, no.. and that’s when she told me about Senegence. I was intrigued, so I went to try it out for myself two days later at her home. After trying the products and seeing how they held up, I was hooked— hook, line, and sinker!
I couldn’t believe how well the products worked, and felt, especially the long-lasting lipstick. I knew I had to share this incredible find with others, so I took the plunge and became an ambassador for Senegence. Now, I’m excited to share these products with as many women as I can, helping them stay fresh and confident throughout their busy days—whether they’re navigating a summer heat wave or just tackling the demands of daily life.
Less than one month later, I had the opportunity to attend a Princess in Training event with Senegence. It was a three-day experience packed with learning, fun, and inspiration. I was blown away by the incredible community of women and the wealth of knowledge I gained. What a fabulous addition to my creative life! It’s been such an exciting journey to rediscover my love for skincare and beauty products, especially after having left the Mary Kay world in 2019.
For 25 years, I had been deeply involved in the Mary Kay business, so stepping away was a big decision. When I took my HRIS position, it became too much to juggle both, so I decided to part ways with Mary Kay. But life has a way of surprising you, and here I am again, diving into another skin care and beauty company that aligns with my passion for helping women look and feel their best.
Life shifts in unexpected ways, and Senegence has come into my life at just the right time. I’m loving how it fits perfectly into my world of creativity and real estate. I’m thrilled to be sharing these amazing products with others, and I can’t wait to see where this next chapter will take me.
Here’s to embracing change, learning new things, and continuing to share beauty with the world—one amazing lipstick at a time! 💄✨

New Year, New Beginnings: A Reflection on Creativity and Craftmanship
New Year, New Beginnings: A Reflection on Creativity and Craftsmanship
As we usher in a new year, there's always a sense of renewal in the air—a chance to reflect, reset, and embrace fresh beginnings. For me, this sense of starting anew resonates deeply, both personally and professionally. Over the past 20 years, I've had the privilege of working with something that holds immense meaning, not just in terms of its value, but in its stories and sentiment: jewelry.
My journey has been one of transformation, both of the jewelry itself and of my creative process. I’ve spent two decades repairing cherished pieces, turning broken treasures into wearable works of art, and even giving new life to old heirlooms. There's something incredibly fulfilling about taking something once loved, perhaps now a little worn or broken, and breathing life back into it. It’s almost like bringing the past into the present while preserving the essence of what made it special in the first place.
In addition to repairs, I've also created entirely new jewelry from old materials, sometimes mixing metals, stones, and designs in unexpected ways. The beauty of working with materials that already carry their own history—whether it’s a broken ring or a well-worn bracelet—is that they bring a sense of legacy into the new creation. It’s a way of honoring the past while adding something personal and unique to the mix.
One of my proudest moments in my journey as a jewelry maker came when I spent a little over a year apprenticing under two incredibly talented metalsmiths. Their mentorship was transformative. It was more than just learning how to forge metal, set stones, or shape silver. They taught me the language of craft, of patience, of respect for the materials. The lessons I learned during that time not only shaped my technical skills but also deepened my appreciation for the artistry that goes into every piece of jewelry.
As the new year unfolds, I can’t help but think about the endless possibilities for the year ahead. The creative process is a bit like a journey, always evolving, always changing. Whether I’m breathing new life into an old piece or designing something entirely from scratch, every project feels like its own new beginning. And, much like the start of a new year, it holds the potential for transformation and discovery.
For me, the work I do is about more than just making jewelry—it’s about connecting with the stories and emotions behind each piece, understanding its history, and crafting something that feels meaningful and personal. Jewelry is so much more than metal and stones; it carries memories, it celebrates milestones, and it marks the moments in life that matter most.
As I look forward to the coming months, I am excited to continue this journey of creation. There will always be challenges—whether in the form of a broken clasp or a design that just doesn’t come together as imagined—but there will also be triumphs, those moments when a piece of jewelry comes to life in a way that feels magical.
So, as we embark on this new year, I invite you to think about your own “new beginnings.” What old treasures might you have that could be transformed into something new? What stories are waiting to be told through your own creative endeavors? There’s never a better time than now to start something fresh, whether it's in the world of jewelry, art, or any passion that calls to you. Just as a piece of jewelry can be reimagined and reborn, so too can we.
Happy New Year! May it be filled with creativity, transformation, and the joy of new beginnings.

Real Estate Fun…
Well, here I am—off and running in my first year as a full-time Realtor! And let me tell you, it’s been nothing short of an adventure.

My First Year as a Full-Time Realtor
Well, here I am—off and running in my first year as a full-time Realtor! And let me tell you, it’s been nothing short of an adventure.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that Real Estate is all about learning. I mean, I knew there would be a lot to take in, but wow—there’s so much to know, and even more to figure out how to do! From contracts and negotiations to market trends and property valuations, my first year has been a whirlwind of new information, experiences, and challenges. And I’ve loved every minute of it.
—-The Power of Learning
It’s hard to overstate just how much there is to absorb in this field. Every day brings something new—whether it’s learning about a new piece of technology, discovering a new strategy to help my clients, or diving deeper into local market data. It feels like there’s always more to know, but that’s what makes it exciting! I love being in a profession that challenges me to grow and evolve constantly.
But it’s not just about the technical stuff—learning how to *do* everything is just as important as knowing *what* to do. Building relationships, navigating client expectations, and negotiating deals are all skills I’ve had to hone. Each transaction and each client presents a new learning opportunity. And as much as I’ve read and studied, there’s no substitute for real-life experience.
—- The Fun Adventure
Despite all the learning, it’s been a fun adventure. Every day is different—one day I’m showing homes, the next I’m helping clients navigate through paperwork or brainstorming creative ways to market a property. There’s a thrill that comes with helping someone find their perfect home or guiding them through the selling process. Every deal is a new puzzle to solve, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see it all come together.
And, let’s be honest, the relationships I’ve built along the way have been one of the best parts of this journey. Whether it’s helping first-time homebuyers understand the process or negotiating the best deal for sellers, getting to know my clients and being a part of such a significant moment in their lives has been so fulfilling.
—- So Glad I Chose This Path
Looking back on my first year, I can honestly say I’m so happy I chose the route of becoming a Realtor. Yes, there’s been a lot of learning (and more learning, and more learning!), but the rewards have been completely worth it. I’ve discovered that this career is so much more than just buying and selling homes. It’s about helping people navigate one of the most important decisions of their lives and being a trusted guide along the way.
I’m excited for what the future holds in this journey. I know there will continue to be challenges and opportunities to learn, but that’s what makes it so worthwhile. Real Estate is a constantly evolving field, and I can’t wait to see where this adventure takes me next.
Thanks for following along with my journey, and if you’re ever ready to make your next big move—whether it’s buying or selling a home—I’d love to help you make it happen!
Here’s to more learning, more fun, and many more successful transactions ahead! 🏡✨
Career-Shift
After years of holding a variety of positions, I’m thrilled to announce a new chapter in my career journey. As of September, 2022, I’m officially a full-time Realtor!
Over the years, I’ve worn many hats: from graphics designer and HRIS manager to project manager, facilitator, trainer, beauty and skin care consultant, jeweler/apprentice, Entrepreneur and business owner, and so many other multifaceted roles. Each of these experiences taught me something valuable and shaped my professional identity. But despite all the different jobs I’ve had, something was always missing—a true passion, a career that would bring me both joy and fulfillment.

Each of these experiences taught me something valuable and shaped my professional identity. But despite all the different jobs I’ve had, something was always missing—a true passion, a career that would bring me both joy and fulfillment.
Then came Covid.
Like many others, the pandemic gave me the time and space to reflect on my life, career, and what I truly wanted to do moving forward. I had the opportunity to pause, think about my strengths, my interests, and what really made me happy. It wasn’t just about finding another job—it was about finding the right job, one that would not only align with my skills but also ignite my passion.
During this time of reflection, my wonderful husband encouraged me to do just that—find something that truly makes me excited to get up every day. After a lot of soul-searching, listing out my skills, and considering all the things I enjoy, Real Estate—more specifically, becoming a Realtor—rose to the top of my list.
The more I thought about it, the more everything clicked. Real Estate brings together so many things I love: people, problem-solving, negotiation, design and customer service.. I’ve always been drawn to homes—whether it’s helping friends and family with home décor advice or simply appreciating the architecture of a place. Real Estate allows me to combine my passion for helping others with my love for homes and design in a way that feels both exciting and fulfilling.
Why Realtor?
You might wonder—why Real Estate? Why the switch from HR and project management to helping people buy and sell homes? Well, there’s something about the process of guiding people through one of the most important decisions of their lives that really resonates with me. I’ve always loved connecting with others and using my skills to make a difference. Real estate allows me to do just that, while also allowing me to tap into my creativity and my passion for design and aesthetics.
It’s not just about showing houses; it’s about helping people find the place where they’ll build memories, where their dreams will come true. It’s about finding the perfect fit for my clients and being with them every step of the way, from the first showing to the final closing. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing someone’s face light up when they walk into their new home, knowing that I was a part of that journey.
The Future
As of September 2022, I’ve officially taken the leap and am now a full-time Realtor. I’m so excited about this new chapter and all the possibilities ahead. I’m looking forward to helping clients find not just a house, but a place to call home—a place where they can make memories and live the life they’ve always dreamed of.
This career shift isn’t just about a new title; it’s about finding purpose and passion in what I do. And I’m so grateful to my family and friends, especially my supportive husband, for encouraging me to follow this path and pursue a career that makes me truly happy.
If you or someone you know is looking to buy or sell a home, I’d love to be a part of that journey. I’m here to help, guide, and make the process as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Here’s to new beginnings, new challenges, and a bright future in real estate! 🏡✨
Feel free to reach out to me if you’re ready to explore your next big move! Let’s make it happen!
Hopper: A Journey of Love, Loss, and Heartbreak
I’ve been sitting with my feelings for a while now, trying to find the words to express just how much Hopper meant to me—and how deeply I’ve been affected by his loss. But sometimes, words just don’t seem to do justice to the bond we shared, the love we gave him, and the hole his absence has left in my heart.
Hopper was a stray—a little soul I had seen wandering around the neighborhood for some time. He was always skittish, always keeping his distance from people, and he had this limp that told me he’d been through something rough. Thanksgiving of last year (2020), when the weather was bitterly cold, I saw him again. And this time, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I needed to do something for him.
He was so afraid of people, of me, but I had this sense that there was a connection waiting to be made. The day after Thanksgiving, I almost had him. I got close enough that we made eye contact, and I could see this small spark of trust. He nipped at me, but I didn’t back away. Instead, I offered him some ham, and to my surprise, he let me pet him. It wasn’t much, but it was enough for me to feel that bond.
And then, as quickly as he allowed me in, he ran off.
For the next month, I tried everything to get him to come back to me. I’d see him around, but he was always so fearful. Every time I got close, he would run. As December rolled around, with the cold weather getting even more severe, I couldn’t stop worrying about him. I was desperate to help, so I reached out to an animal rescue organization, and with their help, we finally managed to catch him.
When we got him to the vet, we discovered he was microchipped, and his previous owners were located. They told us he’d been "missing" for five years. I won’t get into the details of his past, but suffice it to say, I wasn’t going to let him go back. They agreed to sign a waiver, allowing me to be his new "mom."
After this, we took him back to the vet for a full check-up. His back leg, the one with the limp, was examined, and the vet confirmed the injury was old—too old to repair. The vet said it would cause him more pain to try fixing it, so the best thing we could do was let him live out his life, comfortably and happily.
And that’s exactly what we did. We pampered him, made him feel safe, and loved him with all we had. Slowly but surely, he gained weight—30 pounds—and started looking healthy and strong. But there were times when he’d still seem a little cranky, and we assumed it was the trauma of his past life on the streets.
Then came August 9th—a day I will never forget. Hopper collapsed. He began to have seizures, and I knew something was terribly wrong. We rushed him to the animal emergency center, but the news we received was heartbreaking. He had cancer. It had consumed his body, and the vet did everything possible to stabilize him, but it was too late. He went into cardiac arrest, and despite the vet's best efforts, he couldn’t be saved.
I am absolutely broken, still today… Months later.
It’s hard to put into words how much I miss him. Hopper was more than just a dog; he was a survivor, a fighter, and a reminder that love can heal the deepest wounds. I will always treasure the time we had together, and I’m so grateful that we could give him the comfort and love he deserved after years of struggle.
He came to me as a stray, broken and lost, and I was so proud to give him a home where he could feel safe. In return, he gave me love, companionship, and a sense of purpose. The short time we had together may not have been enough, but it was everything.
I’ll never forget you, Hopper. You will always have a special place in my heart. Rest in peace, my sweet boy. ❤️
My Weight Loss Journey (this time)
Like so many others, I’ve struggled with my weight for most of my life. It’s been a constant battle, and I’ve tried countless diets, plans, and quick fixes over the years—some successful for a short time, others not so much. But my recent experience with Weight Watchers has been a game-changer, and I’m excited to share my progress!
My Weight Loss Journey: Finding Success with Weight Watchers
Like so many others, I’ve struggled with my weight for most of my life. It’s been a constant battle, and I’ve tried countless diets, plans, and quick fixes over the years—some successful for a short time, others not so much. But my recent experience with **Weight Watchers** has been a game-changer, and I’m excited to share my progress!
I joined **Weight Watchers** during the pandemic, when life was already full of uncertainty and challenges. Honestly, I wasn’t sure if it would work for me, but something about the program felt different. For the first time, I didn’t feel like I was following a “diet.” Instead, I felt like I was gaining the tools to build a healthier, more sustainable lifestyle. And the best part? It hasn’t been about deprivation—it’s been about finding balance, making smarter choices, and being kind to myself throughout the process.
The Journey So Far
As of now, I’ve lost 30 pounds—and I couldn’t be happier with my progress! While I still have more to go, I’m so proud of how far I’ve come. It feels amazing to not only see the physical changes, but to also feel the shift in my mindset. For the first time in a long time, I feel in control of my journey. The support from the Weight Watchers community, combined with the flexibility of the program, has made all the difference.
The app and the resources provided have been incredibly helpful, allowing me to track what I eat, learn about portion sizes, and make better food choices without feeling restricted. It’s also been empowering to know that I can still enjoy the foods I love, just in moderation. That’s been a big part of the success for me—this isn’t about giving up everything; it’s about finding a healthy balance that works for my body and my lifestyle.
The Road Ahead
While I’m celebrating my 30-pound loss, I know my journey isn’t over. There’s still work to do, and I’m committed to continuing this path toward a healthier, happier me. What’s different this time is that I’m not focused on an end goal or a “finish line.” I’m focused on building habits that will serve me for the long term, and that mindset shift has made all the difference.
I’m so grateful for the support I’ve received and the progress I’ve made so far. This has truly been the best experience I’ve ever had when it comes to weight loss, and I’m excited to keep moving forward, step by step.
If you’re on your own weight loss journey, I encourage you to be patient with yourself and remember that progress, no matter how big or small, is still progress. We’re all on our own paths, and the important thing is that we keep moving forward.
Here’s to more progress, more victories, and continued growth!
New Position: A Fresh Start with New Challenges
I want to apologize for the long dry spell and lack of posts here—things have been a bit busy behind the scenes! But now, I’m excited to share some big news and an update on what’s been happening.
I want to apologize for the long dry spell and lack of posts here—things have been a bit busy behind the scenes! But now, I’m excited to share some big news and an update on what’s been happening.
In August of 2018, my boss of 7 years, County Commissioner, Smaligo, made the decision to move on from the public sector and pursue a new career path. As he was preparing for his transition, an incredible opportunity in Human Resources opened up within the organization—a role I was not only familiar with but had held in the past.
Needless to say, I was beyond excited about the possibility of stepping into this new role. It felt like the perfect opportunity for me to continue growing in my career while also taking on fresh challenges. So, I applied immediately—and was thrilled when I was offered the position!
This new chapter has come with a lot of new responsibilities and a lot to take in, but I’m truly enjoying the challenge. There’s a lot to learn, and I’m eager to dive into it all. The transition has been both exciting and a bit overwhelming at times, but I feel incredibly grateful for this opportunity to grow and learn in a new direction.
While the learning curve has been steep, it’s been so rewarding to tackle new projects, work with amazing people, and contribute to the organization in a fresh way. I’m excited for what’s ahead, and I’m committed to embracing every new challenge that comes my way.
Thank you all for your patience and continued support. I can’t wait to share more updates and insights as I continue on this journey!
