New Year, New Beginnings: A Reflection on Creativity and Craftmanship
New Year, New Beginnings: A Reflection on Creativity and Craftsmanship
As we usher in a new year, there's always a sense of renewal in the air—a chance to reflect, reset, and embrace fresh beginnings. For me, this sense of starting anew resonates deeply, both personally and professionally. Over the past 20 years, I've had the privilege of working with something that holds immense meaning, not just in terms of its value, but in its stories and sentiment: jewelry.
My journey has been one of transformation, both of the jewelry itself and of my creative process. I’ve spent two decades repairing cherished pieces, turning broken treasures into wearable works of art, and even giving new life to old heirlooms. There's something incredibly fulfilling about taking something once loved, perhaps now a little worn or broken, and breathing life back into it. It’s almost like bringing the past into the present while preserving the essence of what made it special in the first place.
In addition to repairs, I've also created entirely new jewelry from old materials, sometimes mixing metals, stones, and designs in unexpected ways. The beauty of working with materials that already carry their own history—whether it’s a broken ring or a well-worn bracelet—is that they bring a sense of legacy into the new creation. It’s a way of honoring the past while adding something personal and unique to the mix.
One of my proudest moments in my journey as a jewelry maker came when I spent a little over a year apprenticing under two incredibly talented metalsmiths. Their mentorship was transformative. It was more than just learning how to forge metal, set stones, or shape silver. They taught me the language of craft, of patience, of respect for the materials. The lessons I learned during that time not only shaped my technical skills but also deepened my appreciation for the artistry that goes into every piece of jewelry.
As the new year unfolds, I can’t help but think about the endless possibilities for the year ahead. The creative process is a bit like a journey, always evolving, always changing. Whether I’m breathing new life into an old piece or designing something entirely from scratch, every project feels like its own new beginning. And, much like the start of a new year, it holds the potential for transformation and discovery.
For me, the work I do is about more than just making jewelry—it’s about connecting with the stories and emotions behind each piece, understanding its history, and crafting something that feels meaningful and personal. Jewelry is so much more than metal and stones; it carries memories, it celebrates milestones, and it marks the moments in life that matter most.
As I look forward to the coming months, I am excited to continue this journey of creation. There will always be challenges—whether in the form of a broken clasp or a design that just doesn’t come together as imagined—but there will also be triumphs, those moments when a piece of jewelry comes to life in a way that feels magical.
So, as we embark on this new year, I invite you to think about your own “new beginnings.” What old treasures might you have that could be transformed into something new? What stories are waiting to be told through your own creative endeavors? There’s never a better time than now to start something fresh, whether it's in the world of jewelry, art, or any passion that calls to you. Just as a piece of jewelry can be reimagined and reborn, so too can we.
Happy New Year! May it be filled with creativity, transformation, and the joy of new beginnings.

Career-Shift
After years of holding a variety of positions, I’m thrilled to announce a new chapter in my career journey. As of September, 2022, I’m officially a full-time Realtor!
Over the years, I’ve worn many hats: from graphics designer and HRIS manager to project manager, facilitator, trainer, beauty and skin care consultant, jeweler/apprentice, Entrepreneur and business owner, and so many other multifaceted roles. Each of these experiences taught me something valuable and shaped my professional identity. But despite all the different jobs I’ve had, something was always missing—a true passion, a career that would bring me both joy and fulfillment.

Each of these experiences taught me something valuable and shaped my professional identity. But despite all the different jobs I’ve had, something was always missing—a true passion, a career that would bring me both joy and fulfillment.
Then came Covid.
Like many others, the pandemic gave me the time and space to reflect on my life, career, and what I truly wanted to do moving forward. I had the opportunity to pause, think about my strengths, my interests, and what really made me happy. It wasn’t just about finding another job—it was about finding the right job, one that would not only align with my skills but also ignite my passion.
During this time of reflection, my wonderful husband encouraged me to do just that—find something that truly makes me excited to get up every day. After a lot of soul-searching, listing out my skills, and considering all the things I enjoy, Real Estate—more specifically, becoming a Realtor—rose to the top of my list.
The more I thought about it, the more everything clicked. Real Estate brings together so many things I love: people, problem-solving, negotiation, design and customer service.. I’ve always been drawn to homes—whether it’s helping friends and family with home décor advice or simply appreciating the architecture of a place. Real Estate allows me to combine my passion for helping others with my love for homes and design in a way that feels both exciting and fulfilling.
Why Realtor?
You might wonder—why Real Estate? Why the switch from HR and project management to helping people buy and sell homes? Well, there’s something about the process of guiding people through one of the most important decisions of their lives that really resonates with me. I’ve always loved connecting with others and using my skills to make a difference. Real estate allows me to do just that, while also allowing me to tap into my creativity and my passion for design and aesthetics.
It’s not just about showing houses; it’s about helping people find the place where they’ll build memories, where their dreams will come true. It’s about finding the perfect fit for my clients and being with them every step of the way, from the first showing to the final closing. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing someone’s face light up when they walk into their new home, knowing that I was a part of that journey.
The Future
As of September 2022, I’ve officially taken the leap and am now a full-time Realtor. I’m so excited about this new chapter and all the possibilities ahead. I’m looking forward to helping clients find not just a house, but a place to call home—a place where they can make memories and live the life they’ve always dreamed of.
This career shift isn’t just about a new title; it’s about finding purpose and passion in what I do. And I’m so grateful to my family and friends, especially my supportive husband, for encouraging me to follow this path and pursue a career that makes me truly happy.
If you or someone you know is looking to buy or sell a home, I’d love to be a part of that journey. I’m here to help, guide, and make the process as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Here’s to new beginnings, new challenges, and a bright future in real estate! 🏡✨
